A new research study is recruiting adults with polymyositis (18 years and older) and adolescents (12-17 years old) and young adults with dermatomyositis. The purpose of this study is to gather feedback on a general health questionnaire to evaluate its relevance and clarity to patients with IIM.
What is involved?
Participation in this study includes a single, approximately 60-minute interview with the option of using either telephone or online videoconferencing software. During the interview, a researcher will ask you/your child to read out loud a general health questionnaire and provide feedback on it. This study does not include any treatments. All study participants will receive $125 in exchange for their time. For adolescent participants that would like a parent/guardian to be present during the interview, the parent/guardian will also receive $75 in exchange for their time.
Who can participate?
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you/your child:
- Have been diagnosed with either polymyositis or dermatomyositis
- Currently live in the United States
- Are able to read and speak English fluently
- Are willing and able to participate in an interview for approximately 60 minutes
